Round 3, Pick 2 (No. 66 Overall)

The Pick: Tarell Basham, DE (Ohio)

The 49ers desperately need to improve their pass rush – enter Tarell Basham.

Basham explodes off the snap and has the short-area speed to knife into the backfield and generate penetration against the pass and the run.

He doesn’t bend but wins consistently inside, and there’s little reason why he cannot produce in the way he did at Ohio, where he had 24.5 tackles for loss and had 15 sacks in his last two years.
