Arizona Cardinals. 22. team. 32. . 7-8-1.

Quarterback Carson Palmer and wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald are going to give it one more year to see if the Arizona Cardinals can win a Super Bowl.

One of the NFL’s darling teams in 2015, the Cardinals fell flat a season ago as age started to show.

Palmer needs a replacement sooner rather than later, so it wouldn’t be a shock to see Arizona try to land someone like Texas Tech quarterback Patrick Mahomes early in the NFL Draft. Such a move will help matters down the road, but it solves nothing right now.

In Round 2, the Cardinals would be wise to find a wide receiver to replace Fitzgerald. Depth at running back would help too. If No. 1 tailback David Johnson suffered a major injury, this offense would go stagnant in a hurry.

And the defense, well, it was up and down last season. Placing the franchise tag on EDGE Chandler Jones was smart. Letting defensive end Calais Campbell walk in free agency was a wise move too.

Still, the Cardinals are dangerously close to heading in the wrong direction, which puts even more pressure to deliver in the NFL Draft.
