2017 NFL Draft: San Francisco 49ers’ Cornerback Big Board

No. 9: Quincy Wilson, Florida

Ex-Gators’ cornerback, Quincy Wilson comes in at No. 9 on the 49ers’ cornerback big board. This past season, the junior had three interceptions to go along with six passes defensed.

According to Pro Football Focus, Wilson allowed a passer rating for 29.9 on throws in his coverage. He possesses good ability to match receivers’ routes and make quick breaks on the ball.

Wilson also doesn’t get beat deep often, giving up only 616 yards total in three seasons on 57 catches.

Some of his flaws include that he plays exclusively at the right cornerback position and also tends to be really physical.

Although Wilson might have been penalized only five times in college, in the NFL, that number could increase if he isn’t more careful.

Wilson isn’t the physical freak that Witherspoon is, coming in at 6-foot-1, running a 4.54 second 40-yard dash.

But the ex-Gators’ cornerback has the potential to be a starting NFL cornerback and could slide right into the 49ers’ defense and cover the right side of the defense.
