No. 27: Tight End David Njoku, Miami

If the 49ers elect to pass on tight end O.J. Howard — they will — looking at Miami’s David Njoku might not be a bad idea.

Njoku was highly productive in just 13 games for Miami last season, logging 43 receptions for 698 yards and eight touchdowns. His 6-foot-4, 246-pound frame, combined with a 4.64 40-yard time, could make him an enticing mismatch for San Francisco’s offense.

He probably won’t go in Round 1, which makes a day-two pick for the Niners plausible here.

There hasn’t been any reported interest between the two sides though, so it’s likely the 49ers would use their second pick in the draft on someone else.
