No. 24: EDGE Charles Harris, Missouri

The 2017 NFL Draft is deep with edge rushers, and the 49ers could use more than just one this offseason.

But if they fail to land someone like Texas A&M’s Myles Garrett or Tennessee’s Derek Barnett early, Missouri’s Charles Harris isn’t a bad fallback option.

Harris has 16 combined sacks over his last two seasons, and Missouri has been churning out elite pass-rushers for some time now (think Aldon Smith).

The 49ers probably wouldn’t be enticed to trade back up into Round 1 to select someone like Harris, especially considering this class’ depth. But if Harris managed to fall into Round 2, it wouldn’t be a shock to see the Niners make the move.
