2017 NFL Draft: The Top 32 Prospects and How the 49ers Are Linked to Each
By Peter Panacy
No. 18: Wide Receiver John Ross, Washington
Washington wideout John Ross blew away scouts at the NFL Scouting Combine with his amazing 4.22 40-yard-dash time.
That’s enough to propel him to the very top of many wide receiver big boards, and the receiver-needy 49ers have to be paying attention, right?
Well, at this point we’ve already reached the spot where San Francisco would either have to trade down from No. 2 or up from No. 34. So that creates difficulty, unless the team is hoping he falls into Round 2, which he won’t.
This issue is probably keeping any reported Niners interest from developing. But that doesn’t mean the team isn’t looking.
