2. player. 42. This is a selection that I’ve been vocal about for nearly a month now. The 49ers are in need of a playmaker on both sides of the ball. John Lynch doesn’t need to hit a home run with his first pick in the NFL Draft, just a double, a player that can contribute at a Pro Bowl level for a majority of his career. With Robert Saleh’s Seahawks-esque defense, San Francisco is in need of a center-field, rangy safety. With Hooker’s ball skills, speed and size, he’d be an ideal fit at the back end of the defense with Eric Reid.. Safety. Ohio State. Malik Hooker
