No. 1: RB Mike Davis

Not a shocker, but I think running back Mike Davis’ days in San Francisco are over. Heading into his third season with the 49ers, Davis would have only had 54 total carries.

For those 54 carries, he’s rushed for 108 yards, featuring a career average of 2.0 yards per carry.

Last season under Chip Kelly, Davis was constantly in and out of the dog house, between poor carries and fumbles.

Davis had admitted, coming into his first season, his weight was an issue and he didn’t have the proper diet. He vowed that he was going to stop eating the Cheetos and eat healthier in preparation for the 2016 season.

It didn’t help him out that much, as he carried the ball 16 times fewer last season, even with injuries to lead running back Carlos Hyde.

He was leapfrogged on the depth chart by RB Shaun Draughn and was never able to recover.

With a deep running back class, I think that the 49ers will look to add at least one running back in April. With that happening, it’s all but certain that Davis shouldn’t be back in 2016.
