49ers: San Francisco’s 2017 Offseason Big Board, version 2.0
By Eric Gamboa
The San Francisco 49ers new front office hit the ground running this free agency period, signing 20 free-agent players. With this in mind, it’s time to update Niner Noise’s offseason big board in time for the 2017 NFL Draft!
Ah, you can see Mike Mayock saying, “Are you not entertained?!” in the picture above right? Like a jacked up Russell Crowe in that scene in Gladiator.
On a slightly more serious note, with the regular season over, this is the time of year that fans look towards the 2017 NFL Draft.
Here, at Niner Noise, we are no different.
San Francisco 49ers
We enjoy playing the part of 49ers’ general manager just like you. It is immensely fun to think of all the different ways to construct a roster. Some fans seriously believe they know better than the people who get paid the big bucks.
Don’t believe me? Just go on Twitter or Facebook and read all of the posts from fans who swear they can turn the franchise around by selecting a few players and signing a few free agents.
If it were only that easy, right?
Still, even those who get paid the million dollar deals make some boneheaded mistakes. Some do it, year after year like Trent Baalke did by continually deciding to draft injured players. The verdict? Yeah, those didn’t quite pan out.
So, in a way, we should thank GMs like Baalke and Matt Millen. It’s what makes regular joes think, “Hey, I can do a better job than that guy!”
Which brings me back to this article: Here, at Niner Noise, we also think we can do a better job than GMs! Hey, we can dream, right?
So without further ado, let’s look at our updated big board — version 2.0!
