A.J. Bouye

Coming into the 2017 NFL free agency period, many fans (this sportswriter included) were hoping that the 49ers would make a push for former Houston Texans cornerback A.J. Bouye.

After seeing the contract that he signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars, at least one person has changed their mind.

Bouye capitalized on a sensational 2016 season and landed on a rich, rich contract with the Jags. Bouye ended the 2016 season with an incredible 90.9 PFF grade. The risky part for the Jags is the fact that Bouye has only played for one season. If he doesn’t pan out, it is late now as he has already signed a long-term deal.

Yet, if he does work out, he and fellow Jag Jalen Ramsey will make an excellent secondary that the Jags can build around.

Jacksonville Jaguars. A.J. BOUYE. A. The Jags look to make a dynamic duo in A.J. Bouye and Jalen Ramsey. Both are quick, athletic DBs who can diagnose and quickly break on the ball. Is the price tag on Bouye high? Yes, but he is still young and he had one of the better seasons of any CB last year.. CB
