No. 3: LB Reuben Foster

Foster could be one of the best potential finds in this draft. Coming out of Alabama, Foster can play the run and cover tight ends in the passing game. He’s got the ability, talent and resume to be successful at the next level.

The Alabama linebacker seems like the ideal type of player to be successful at the combine, right? Well, think again, Foster wasn’t even there long enough to participate in any of the events.

Adam Schefter of ESPN reported late on Friday night that Foster was being sent home from the combine.

Foster cheated himself of the chance to meet with NFL teams at the biggest job fair they have to offer. He didn’t participate in any of the drills or get to showcase his abilities.

Not only did Foster not participate, he added character concerns to his resume by getting into an argument with a hospital worker.

Reports came out later that it was a “miscommunication” and it shouldn’t have escalated the way it did. Foster went on to issue an apology and buried the hatchet.

Although Foster may not necessarily fall out the top-15, he may have slid in the draft because of this incident. As a result of this, teams will dig deeper into his background and see if there are any other red flags.

Combined with his injury concerns, not being at the NFL Scouting Combine might just drop his draft value.
