NFL Free Agency: Breaking Down Each Team’s Biggest Offseason Need
By Peter Panacy
Los Angeles Rams
Projected Cap Space: $20,192,280
Biggest Need: Wide Receiver
The Los Angeles Rams have a solid defense and a young quarterback in Jared Goff. They also have running back Todd Gurley, who had a down year in 2016, but should bounce back this season.
Opposing teams understood this and did their best to keep Gurley from being a factor. And that left L.A.’s quarterbacks, ending with Goff, having few legitimate weapons to throw to.
It’s looking more like wide receiver Tavon Austin isn’t going to be the answer. Besides, the Rams could use some help to back him up. Especially if Kenny Britt walks in free agency.
With new head coach Sean McVay in town, expect the Rams to make a splash or two on the offensive side of the ball. Maybe they go after a big name like DeSean Jackson or even Alshon Jeffery.
They have enough money for one big move.
