Experts’ Take on Adams

According to Lance Zierlein of NFL.com, Adams is an interchangeable safety with the mentality of a sheriff. He’s a tone-setter, who thrives regardless of where he is on the field. He’s a great leader in the locker room and can be a catalyst for turning around a defense.

Sounds like exactly what the 49ers need at this time of their rebuild. They’re looking for good leaders and playmakers on the defensive side of the field. What better way to start than by adding Adams with the No. 2 pick.

Still not convinced? Here what Bleacher Report’s Matt Miller said recently regarding what Adams’ is worth in the draft.

The 49ers can definitely use an Eric Berry-type playmaker on the defensive side of the ball, someone who’ll help a porous run defense and help in pass coverage as well.

According to CBS Sports, Jamal Adams is the No. 1 ranked strong safety in the nation and No. 6 overall.

In an article from MMQB, ex-Steelers safety Ryan Clark states that “Jamal has the same explosion and instincts [as S Troy Polamalu]. He feels the game the same way Troy [Polamalu] did.”

Clark goes on to add that he believes that Adams is a lock to be a top-10 pick and a force in the league.

With many draft experts and ex-players raving about Adams’ ability and potential, it’s becoming clearer that he’s worth the 49ers’ No. 2 selection.
