No. 10: EDGE Tank Carradine

Defensive end, turned EDGE Tank Carradine has been one of the bigger 49ers disappointments since being selected in Round 2 of the 2013 NFL Draft.

After being redshirted his rookie season, Carradine has registered just 40 tackles and four sacks over three pro seasons — a far cry from the 16.5 sacks he posted over two seasons at Florida State.

And yet for some reason, the Niners inked Carradine to a one-year extension last season.

But there’s a last bit of hope for the 27 year old. San Francisco is switching to a 4-3 defense this season — the same in which Carradine thrived at the collegiate level.

Pass-rushers are a premier commodity at the NFL level, and teams can never have too many of them.

Carradine isn’t breaking the bank by any means, so why not see if he can make something happen in a contract year.

Verdict: Keep
