Host a Pregame or Halftime Flag Football Contest

If you’re like me, you can’t stand the halftime entertainment. So what did the rest of us do?

Well, we took to the neighborhood park to engage in a great game of “touch” football.

OK, there was tackling involved. But we had enough people to form offensive and defensive lines, multiple-wide receiver sets and so on. The rules changed as the game went along, of course, but it was sure a riot.

To keep things safe — and your medical bills at a minimum — try hosting a game of your own. Divide all your guests up into two teams, and maybe consider having grandpa serving as the lone official.

You can even try the extended backyard football version long before kickoff. That way, you won’t feel rushed to get back inside before second-half action begins.
