San Francisco 49ers

OK, Niners fans. I’m not going to go easy on you even if this is a 49ers site.

Fans have had plenty to boo over the last couple of seasons. Anyone familiar with the way CEO Jed York and Co. have handled their business can attest to that.

You protest it. You pay to fly banners with anti-York saying over a brand-new, underwhelming Levi’s Stadium.

Faithful? Perhaps. But there’s that one complaint every non-49ers fan out there has about you.

We’re not in the 1980s anymore. This isn’t even the 1990s. Perhaps more than any other fan base, Niners fans gloat about the glory days more than anybody.

Yes, San Francisco had more than its share of Hall of Fame greats. Yes, they have a lot of rings. And yes, a lot of current NFL stars — Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers — grew up idolizing the red and gold.

But that was a long, long, long time ago. Move on.
