Opposing teams are doing their best to lock down on Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton.
And while he’ll still be the focal point for the foreseeable future, Carolina would be wise to invest in another playmaker to take away opponents’ focuses.
Florida State running back Dalvin Cook is that guy. With current Panthers’ No. 1 tailback Jonathan Stewart getting up there in years (29 years old), Cook is the kind of player who can easily split time his rookie season and emerge as the featured back in 2018 and beyond.
He’s the perfect tool for Panthers offensive coordinator Mike Shula’s complex and aggressive running schemes.
