The Texans barely got by the lowly Jaguars in Week 15 and had to bench their big-time free-agent quarterback acquisition, Brock Osweiler, to do it.

Sure makes these contract numbers all the more interesting:

Osweiler was 6-of-11 for 48 yards and two interceptions before being replaced by backup quarterback Tom Savage.

Savage’s numbers were notably better, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see head coach Bill O’Brien roll with Savage over the rest of the season to ensure Houston doesn’t let the AFC South crown slip away.
