Jets vs. 49ers: Previewing Week 14 for San Francisco

Significant 49ers Injuries
The Niners have certainly endured their fair share of injuries on the season, and Week 14 won’t be a clean slate of health either.
Here’s the injury-report breakdown, courtesy of the team’s website:
Name | Injury | Wednesday | Thursday | Friday | Game Designation |
DL 98 Ronald Blair | Hamstring | FP | FP | FP | (-) |
DT 92 Quinton Dial | Elbow | DNP | LP | LP | Questionable |
DT 90 Glenn Dorsey | Knee | LP | LP | FP | (-) |
RB 24 Shaun Draughn | Ribs | LP | LP | FP | (-) |
LB 58 Eli Harold | Toe | LP | LP | FP | (-) |
C 67 Daniel Kilgore | Hamstring | FP | FP | FP | (-) |
LB 59 Aaron Lynch | Ankle | LP | LP | LP | Questionable |
T 74 Joe Staley | Hamstring | (-) | DNP | DNP | Doubtful |
Linebacker Aaron Lynch has missed the last five games due to a high-ankle sprain. And the Niners pass rush has struggled mightily as a result.
This group is on pace to be worse than the 28 sacks generated a year ago, and Lynch’s absence is a major reason why.
Veteran left tackle Joe Staley’s hamstring injury will probably keep him out of the active lineup on Sunday. San Francisco may elect to put right tackle Trent Brown on the left side, while inserting rookie tackle John Theus in Brown’s stead. Or maybe we’ll see a different combination with veteran guard Zane Beadles bumping to the outside.
Nonetheless, Staley’s probable absence hurts San Francisco’s offensive line in a major way.
