The Buccaneers might be one of the feel-good stories of the 2016 NFL season, and it’s been great to watch quarterback Jameis Winston’s maturation process take such a huge leap his second year at the pro level.

And the same goes with wide receiver Mike Evans, who was held largely in check during the Bucs’ 28-21 victory over the Chargers in Week 13.

Instead, Tampa Bay’s defense was a primary factor in ensuring this win on the road. This unit picked off San Diego quarterback Philip Rivers twice, which turned out to be major plays in the Buccaneers’ favor.

A key home bout with NFC South rivals, the Saints, in Week 14 could put Tampa Bay into legitimate playoff position.
