The Arizona Cardinals are quickly seeing their hold on the NFC West fall out of sight, following an ugly second-half collapse at the hands of the previously reeling Minnesota Vikings.

Arizona’s 30-24 loss tells us a few things — the Cardinals will go as quarterback Carson Palmer goes, and their defense isn’t quite as good as one might think. Yes, Arizona’s defense allowed just 217 all-purpose yards during the effort. But Minnesota converting six third downs on 13 attempts is a stat line which proved disastrous to the Cardinals effort.

Fortunately for Arizona, running back David Johnson got back to his headstrong ways and rushed for 103 yards and a touchdown.

The Cardinals will need more of him down the stretch if they ever hope to catch the Seattle Seahawks within the division.
