The Bad
To be honest, I might be easier to just mesh both the bad and ugly into one slide. But some things are just too awful to be given a promotion to “bad.”
Bad is still bad though.
Injuries bit the 49ers — not uncommon in Seattle. Cornerback Jimmie Ward (quad) was lost for the game, and tight end Vance McDonald (hip) and Garrett Celek (back) were injured as well.
To make matters worse, the Niners found themselves in a hole on the fourth play of the game. This, thanks to a 41-yard touchdown run from Seahawks running back Christine Michael:

In all, San Francisco gave up 127 rushing yards over the course of the game. The 49ers defense now ranks No. 24 in fewest yards allowed this season (368).
The Niners pass defense didn’t fare much better. Seattle gained 291 yards through the air and its questionable offensive line managed to hold up against a relatively lackluster San Francisco pass rush.
The Seahawks were 9-of-14 on third-down conversions as well — not a good look for a 49ers team not equipped to come from behind.
Especially on the road.
The 49ers will add another winless year to their streak of road visits to CenturyLink Field. The last Niner victory in Seattle came in 2011.
