Stock Down — Center Marcus Martin

49ers fans would rather forget third-year pro Marcus Martin’s efforts from 2015, and the former USC product is certainly on the bubble entering this season.

With center Daniel Kilgore slated for the first-team unit, Martin has been relegated to backup duties. And he may not even get the job here.

Just take a look at Martin (No. 66) being pushed clear out of the way on this clip from Brandon Thorn of IT Pylon:

Martin isn’t making the stride from his first two years at the NFL level, and he certainly appears to be on the weak side of the roster bubble.

And, according to Cam Inman of the San Jose Mercury News, the 49ers are experimenting with veteran guard Zane Beadles at the center position — a move which could spell the end for Martin’s tenure in San Francisco.
