Offensive Line

So retired right tackle Anthony Davis has officially filed for reinstatement, right? That’s probably good news for a San Francisco offensive line with plenty of questions at his former spot.

Who’s the option aside from Davis? Erik Pears? Or will second-year pro Trent Brown prove to be in better shape than he was during OTAs? And how much faith do the 49ers have in rookie tackles John Theus and Fahn Cooper?

Yeah, Davis is an upgrade. But he may not be poised to start at the beginning of the season. That may take a little while.

The guard spots are all but locked down with veteran Zane Beadles and rookie first-round pick Joshua Garnett holding the line.

And there shouldn’t be much concern over Pro Bowl left tackle Joe Staley and center Daniel Kilgore either.
