No. 5: A Possible Anthony Davis Return?

To be honest, up until today, former 49ers offensive tackle Anthony Davis’ possible return seemed like a joke. His constant tweeting, for fans, has been very hard to read. Just before April’s NFL Draft, Davis destroyed the 49ers in a series of tweets that Fox Sports’ Andre Vergara wrote about soon after.

Davis said things like, “The 49ers should Draft an Offensive Tackle in the top 10”, and “I do not want to work with a front office or anyone else who seemingly doesn’t want to win as bad as I do.”

But today, something must have changed. David Fucillo of ninersnation.com wrote an article on a possible Davis return.

In the article, there are a couple of videos of Davis participating in offensive line drills. He’s doing the work at Raritan Physical Therapy and looks really thin and in great shape.

Despite this, and based on his April tweets, Davis wants to play football, but not for the 49ers. It’s a shame. Davis would be a welcome addition to a 49ers’ line which could potentially have big problems at right tackle for the second straight year.

So, will Davis return to San Francisco? Will he play somewhere else, or can he and general manager Trent Baalke get along? Leave your comments and let us know what you think.
