John Theus

San Francisco 49ers tackle John Theus will compete at the right tackle spot with the ability to play on the left. Theus’ role will be as a back up “swing tackle,” showing in college he can play on both sides and his versatility will give the 49ers much needed depth at the position.

Depth Chart:

Backup swing tackle.

Impact:

Three to four seasons. Theus has good athleticism but, has shown to be weaker at covering the edge rush. He certainly checks the boxes for what head coach Chip Kelly wants in a tackle, but Theus will need some work before his impact is felt.
