Wide Receiver/Tight End Devon Cajuste

Here we are looking at yet another wide receiver candidate to watch in training camp. Notice a trend here?

At 6-foot-4 and 227 pounds, former Stanford wideout Devon Cajuste in an intriguing physical specimen, who might actually wind up working more as a tight end in the red zone than a traditional wide receiver.

Cajuste may not necessarily boast the eye-popping stat lines in college, but he has some of the best hands for which one could hope.

Just take a look at the video below. You’ll know who Cajuste is.

Our friends over at NFL Mocks had this to say about the Niners’ signing of Cajuste:

"Cajuste is in the mold of a Devin Funchess/Rob Housler, a player who is not quite big enough to be considered a full-time tight end and not necessarily the type of player who is going to be a full-time receiver. That said, I think there’s a role in the NFL for Cajuste, as he is a mismatch in terms of his size, he has good hands, and he runs well for a big man. He’s also a willing blocker. I think he was a great undrafted pickup for the 49ers, and I think he’s a player that could make this team and make an impact down the line."

San Francisco was atrocious in the red zone last year, which is another reason why Cajuste is a player to monitor this summer.
