Middle Linebacker

Ray-Ray Armstrong

Depending on how many LBs the 49ers decide to keep, Ray-Ray Armstrong has a shot to earn his spot. With NaVorro Bowman and Gerald Hodges likely being the starters, Michael Wilhoite having enough production to prove he is a viable option, Armstrong will have to earn his way on special teams.

If he can show value on special teams and the 49ers feel they need to keep more depth at the middle linebacker position, Armstrong has a chance to make the roster.

Nick Bellore

As mentioned above, the story stays the same here — one difference being Nick Bellore has shown value on special teams.

Bellore and Armstrong both will have an uphill battle during camp, so be on the lookout during the preseason for these two players to fly around the field trying to prove they deserve a spot.
