Wide Receiver

Dres Anderson

Entering his second year, Dres Anderson has his best shot at making the roster in 2016 and, behind Torrey Smith, the WR spot is wide open. If Anderson can have a breakout preseason and impress in training camp, he will have a good chance of making the roster.

Quinton Patton

It’s put-up-or-shut-up time for veteran wideout Quinton Patton. Now entering his fifth season with the 49ers (making the 53-man roster every year), Patton has shown flashes of spectacular effort and then also shown dreadful play. He cannot remain consistent and, if it’s one thing coach Kelly finds important, it’s consistency.

It is no guarantee that Patton makes the roster. He will be the most intriguing player to watch this preseason.

Devon Cajuste

Devon Cajuste is a wild card here. He was signed as an undrafted free agent following the 2016 NFL Draft and has become somewhat of a dark horse to make the roster. His size and speed make for a very intriguing red-zone option. If Cajuste can make some plays on both offense and special teams, he might just find himself suiting up on Sundays.
