Devon Cajuste, TE/WR, Stanford

It was a surprise that Devon Cajuste was not drafted.

It may also be considered a surprise if he does not make the 49ers 53-man roster.

At 6’4″ and 230 pounds, Cajuste offers an intriguing set of skills that can only be described as a hybrid, somewhere in between a wide receiver and a tight end.

NFL’s Lance Zierlein captures the value presented by Cajuste’s skill set:

"Cajuste is a similar prospect to the Carolina Panthers’ second-round pick last April, Devin Funchess. Both have large receiver builds that can create mismatches in goal-line situations and in the middle of the field."

Cajuste also possesses some of the strongest hands in the draft:

Niner Noise’s own Jerod Brown wrote an outstanding piece on Devon Cajuste that can be found here.

Out of the 12 undrafted free agents, Cajuste possesses the best chance of not only making the final roster, but carving out a substantial role in a Chip Kelly offense that thrives on effective tight end play.
