No. 4: 49ers Go “Arrest-less” in 2016

Let’s go off the field for a moment and focus a little more on some of the character concerns associated with the Niners in years prior.

Last August, the San Jose Mercury News reported the 49ers led the NFL in player arrests dating back to 2012. On that list were some all-too familiar names: Aldon Smith, Ray McDonald, Chris Culliver and more.

But the last incident was back on August 6 when Smith was arrested for a hit-and-run collision, DUI and vandalism — an incident which forced the 49ers to finally part ways with the talented-yet-troubled linebacker.

So it’s been nearly a year since the 49ers have had an off-the-field incident of this nature.

Maybe there is something to CEO Jed York’s “win with class” statement after all.
