Very Weak Bubble-Watch Players

Trimming a roster from 90 players down to 53 obviously means there will be more than 10 cut-likely candidates.

So here are some others who are on the near fringe of being released at some point — either in the first wave of preseason cuts or once teams are required to formulate their 53-man roster.

And yes, there are more players who will be cut than just on this list. But let’s try to stay away from the camp bodies for now.

WR Dres Anderson

OLB Ray-Ray Armstrong

WR DiAndre Campbell

CB Marcus Cromartie

CB Chris Davis

OL Jordan Devey

TE Je’Ron Hamm

OL Colin Kelly

QB Thad Lewis

DT Kaleb Ramsey

OL Ian Silberman

NT Garrison Smith

QB Dylan Thompson

WR DeAndrew White

Some of these players, if they’re eligible, may wind up on the team’s practice squad or stashed away on injured reserve, if that option is open.

Others may have a chance to crack the 53-man roster — either as worthwhile depth or if they ended up having such a strong camp, the 49ers would have no way to avoid putting them in the regular-season lineup.
