Offensive Line

  1. Joe Staley
  2. Joshua Garnett
  3. Daniel Kilgore
  4. Zane Beadles
  5. Trent Brown
  6. Marcus Martin
  7. Brandon Thomas
  8. Fahn Cooper
  9. John Theus

Led by five-time Pro Bowl tackle Joe Staley, the 49ers offensive line has gone through a bit of an upgrade over the last few weeks with the signing of former Jacksonville Jaguars Pro Bowl guard, Zane Beadles. Baalke also traded back into the first round to select Stanford guard Joshua Garnett.

Garnett will come in and start on day one at left guard, due to his exceptional run blocking ability. He plays extremely aggressive and has that “nasty” side you want to see out of an offensive lineman. He will start and never look back.

Beadles had his best season in 2012 with the Denver Broncos, who run the same zone-blocking scheme as Chip Kelly will run. Beadles is a big upgrade and will start at right guard for the 49ers.

Kilgore will reclaim his center position after coming off an injury plagued season. Martin will provide a sufficient back up option at center and swing guard if needed.

Former seventh-round pick, Trenton Brown, will go into training camp as the starting right tackle after closing 2015 with three quality starts. But Brown is going to have to earn his starting roll on a daily basis. Rookie Fahn Cooper will come in and create an intriguing camp battle with Brown.

Cooper shows to be more athletic than Brown which, in Chip Kelly’s up-tempo offense, can prove to be deciding factor in Cooper winning the starting job.
