Potential Round-By-Round Picks

During the draft, it’s not uncommon to go “oh, the 49ers didn’t pick a quarterback here; they’ll have to grab one in the second round” or “maybe they can put off offensive tackle until round four”. These are abstractions, however; what sorts of players are available in each of these rounds?

With that in mind, here are some players at each position of need who might be available at each pick the 49ers have. That way, you can quickly thumb through and see who the 49ers might get if they pass on your defensive end or linebacker this round.

If a position isn’t listed, it’s because it’s a dry spot in that round—for example, it looks like very few quarterbacks would potentially be available and appropriately valued when the 49ers are on the clock in the third round. A trade, forwards or backwards, would likely be required to draft a quarterback there, or else the team would significantly reach for a player.

These aren’t meant to be comprehensive lists of all possibilities—more a representative sample to give you the idea of the quality of each position in each slot.
