Tight End Vance McDonald

Like a number of players on this list from the 2013 NFL draft, tight end Vance McDonald is also quickly earning the “bust” moniker.

While he flashed some promising moments at times during the 2015 season, the former second-round pick is known more for injuries and questionable hands.

Those hands led to plays like this:

Even with veteran tight end Vernon Davis out of the picture, the 49ers appear to be ready to move on from McDonald at some point down the line. The team recently signed fellow tight end Garrett Celek to an extension, and it’s likely the 49ers would be OK with other tight ends like Blake Bell and, possibly, Busta Anderson climbing over McDonald on the depth chart.

McDonald could force his way back into the discussion regarding the roster here. But he hasn’t exactly helped his cause either.

Look for training camp and the preseason to be an indication about how San Francisco feels about his future.
