Defensive End Nick Perry

Statistics

Green Bay Packers defensive end Nick Perry could also be a solid addition to the 49ers pass-rushing crop.

More of a linebacker, Perry finished his 2015 campaign with a plus-3.9 overall grade, according to Pro Football Focus. He also registered 3.5 sacks and 16 tackles in the process.

Perry wouldn’t be an every-down linebacker. Rather he would be featured in specific packages and could also supplement the pass rush in addition to outside linebacker Aaron Lynch. Think what former 49ers linebacker Dan Skuta was in 2013 and 2014 for San Francisco.

The former first-round pick of the Packers in 2012 wouldn’t be that big of a cap hit either.

But more importantly, the 49ers would have some pass-rushing reinforcement as well as substantial depth if the team decides outside linebackers Corey Lemonier, Ahmad Brooks and Eli Harold shouldn’t figure into long-term plans.
