Offensive Guard: Mike Harris, Minnesota Vikings

Mike Harris had a bit of a breakout year in 2015. After playing as an occasional starter at tackle for his first three seasons in the league, Harris was moved to guard and started all 16 games, performing exceptionally opening holes for Adrian Peterson and keeping Teddy Bridgewater upright.

Harris’ versatility makes him an intriguing potential addition. He could not only compete for a starting guard spot, but serve as the backup swing tackle in case of injury. He also would give the 49ers more options in the draft—they could sign Harris and then either draft a tackle or a guard, and place Harris in the other location.

He’s a bit undersized for a typical guard, which could hurt his value, but the fact remains he played significantly better when moved inside. Maybe it’s just a more natural fit for him, or maybe the proverbial light turned on for him this season. Either way, he’s an appealing mid-tier guard prospect.
