No. 18: Indianapolis Colts

2015 Record: 8-8

The Pick: OT Jack Conklin, Michigan State

The Indianapolis Colts have a number of needs on both sides of the ball. Defensively, they need to get stronger, faster and generate a much better pass rush. But protecting quarterback Andrew Luck should probably be a bit higher on that priority list.

Indianapolis’ left side of the offensive line seems to be figured out. But the right side is an absolute question mark.

At 6’6″ and 325 pounds, Michigan State offensive tackle Jack Conklin would provide a solid upgrade at a critical position of need for the Colts. Not only would Conklin help improve upon the 37 sacks allowed last season, but he’d also be an upgrade for the Colts’ ground game running to the right side.

This was an area of concern last year as were the injuries to Luck.

Indianapolis will look to later rounds to bulk up their defense.
