Defensive Back Jimmie Ward
San Francisco’s first-round selection of the 2014 NFL draft didn’t exactly have the best rookie campaign before being sidelined with a foot injury for the remainder of that season.
And defensive back Jimmie Ward probably would rather forget his efforts versus the Chicago Bears last year as well.
Ward had his vengeance against his Bears nemesis in Week 13 this season with a pick-six interception off quarterback Jay Cutler — a big-moment play which marked the first interception and touchdown of his still-budding career.

Ward will still assume the nickel role within San Francisco’s secondary and is an amicable option behind safeties Eric Reid and Jaquiski Tartt.
It might have taken a little bit, but signs are pointing to the 49ers getting some return on their first-round investment from a year ago.
