Offensive Guard Andrew Tiller

San Francisco’s offensive line has been a liability this season, and it’s clear the short-term experiment with right guard Jordan Devey didn’t work.

Replacing him in the latter half of the season was offensive guard Andrew Tiller — a fourth-year veteran selected by the New Orleans Saints in the sixth round of the 2012 NFL draft.

Tiller has been a major upgrade over Devey this season and could figure into San Francisco’s long-term plans along the O-line.

Left guard Alex Boone is in a contract year this season, so the 49ers’ O-line could be due for some additional shakeups this offseason. And highly touted collegiate prospect Brandon Thomas hasn’t seen the field at all after being redshirted his rookie campaign in 2014.

If Tiller continues to play well over the remaining stretch, look for San Francisco to keep the 26-year-old lineman in its future plans.
