Madden 12 is here!

The time of year has come once again when the NFL preseason is coming to a close with the regular season right around the corner. This also means for gamers everywhere that the newest addition of Madden 12 is released! The new Madden game came out yesterday and I have played a demo of the game. True to its Madden form the game does not disappoint and has some new features that make the game more realistic. Madden 12 uses actual NFL Film’s cinematographers in order to produce accurate and realistic camera angles and shots. Cold and hot streaks by players affecting their overall rating in Franchise mode are one of the cool additions to franchise mode. My favorite Madden game is from the 1994 version on Super Nintendo because it was the one that indtroduced me to the Madden game. My brother and I would always play a Snow Bowl game between the 49ers and Giants which resulted in many shouting matches and controllers being thrown. The best part of the game was the instant replay. This being a game from 1994 the only plays you could review was passing interference calls. You had one review a game and the call was always reversed no matter what happened on the field. It was good for you if you were the defense but frustrating if you were on offense.

Willis Loses to Vick in Madden Cover Contest

Last week Patrick Willis took on Eagles Quarterback Michael Vick in the third round of ESPN’s Madden ‘12 cover contest. Willis had defeated the Seahawks’ 12th Man in the first round and Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward in the second round. However Vick proved to be a hard opponent to beat as he won with 61% of the vote. Vick will next go up against Vikings running back Adrian Peterson in the semifinals. Its too bad Willis didn’t make it to the next round because it would have been awesome to see a Niner on the Madden cover. See the results HERE.

Niners linebacker Patrick Willis has made it to the third round of ESPN’s March Madness style tournament with the winner going on the cover of Madden ’12. Willis won the first round by beating the Seahawks’ 12^th Man with 54% of the vote. Seahawk fans lost with 46% of the vote. That would have been embarrassing had Willis lost to the 12^th Man. I could only imagine the trash talking had Willis gone down to the Seahawks fan base.

Willis advanced from the 2^nd round by beating Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward. No dirty hits from Ward as Willis easily won with 60% of the vote. Willis goes up against Eagles quarterback Michael Vick with the voting starting today and ending April 11. Let’s get Willis on the cover! Vote HERE for Willis.
