Let’s just get this out in the open 49er fans, let’s admit something we all hate to say, hate to think….here I go guys…..Frank Gore gets injured often. There I said it, it’s over with, it’s done. I’m sorry, I understand you hate it, I do as well trust me but it’s definitely true. Moving along, he’s banged up, he carried the ball 6 times for wait for it, zero yards last week and played 1 snap in the second half. Shut him down, it’s the Cardinals, we have 2 games in 5 days, the latter is on the East Coast, get the hint? Kendall Hunter with a sprinkle of Anthony Dixon will be just fine vs the Cardinals. If San Francisco didn’t need Gore against the Giants the Cardinals game is going to be a sleeper. Again this is the Arizona Cardinals, go ahead and dress Gore, then sit him on the bench. Unless something weird happens and the referees don’t allow us to have fumbles we clearly recover or something odd like that leave him there, if we “need” him he can come into the game. One more time, it’s the Arizona Cardinals. Page 2: 15-1? Am I crazy? Do you agree? Is it both? (more…)

49ers running back Frank Gore has been lighting up opponents to the tune of 5 straight 100 yard games-a 49er franchise record. Gore is third in the league in rushing this season and came into Sundays game against the Giants just 149 yards behind 49er great Joe Perry for #1 on the teams All Time career rushing list.

Gore ended the game Sunday still 149 yards away from Joe Perry for #1 on the teams All Time career rushing list. Gore managed 0 yards on just 6 carries and had just 8 yards from scrimmage Sunday. Gore left with a knee injury in the third quarter and watched as Kendall Hunter and Anthony Dixon took over in the backfield. Gore had suffered a injured ankle last week in Washington, Gore played just 1 play in the second half but didn’t carry the ball after halftime.

What Gore says about the injury and my thoughts after the jump

Sunday I will be in Philadelphia representing NinerNoise.com at the 49ers vs. Eagles week 4 matchup. I expect it to be a very tough game for the 49ers to win as the offense has struggled both in the running and passing game. The 49ers will need their offensive line to get things together if they ever want this offense to take off this season. While injuries haven’t helped the offense as a whole other than the OL the other offensive position groups have graded out well.

Speaking of injuries 49ers Head Coach Jim Harbaugh actually said something in regards to some for once today. Harbaugh who is known to describe each and ever injury the same “He is working through something right now”. This time was different as Harbaugh said he expected injured players Donte Whitner, Michael Crabtree and Frank Gore to play Sunday. Great news for the team that badly needs all their weapons on the field vs. a strong Eagles team, especially since Gore and Whitner’s status’s seemed very unsettled just yesterday.
