Major League Baseball and NCAA-Division 1 football have rivalry weekends that have in-state and/or regional teams play against each other. In the MLB rivalry weekend usually happens during interleague play as most teams that are in-state or regional rivals are in different leagues. In college football the last weekend of the season is reserved for rivalries and it has become known as Rivalry Weekend. That got me thinking, why not have a rivalry weekend like the MLB and NCAA football in the NFL? It is not often that in-state or regional teams play against each other in a season. There might be a reason the NFL does not showcase non-conference rivals but how awesome would it be to have one weekend in the season where teams play each other and it becomes known as NFL Rivalry Weekend. Of course, like baseball, some teams will be left out to play against teams not in-state or their region but I think something like this would be very exciting to see in the NFL. Here are the teams I think should play against each other while avoiding having games where teams play against each other in the same division or conference:

In-state/regional games. Most are already rivals while others could become regional rivals:

Dallas Cowboys vs. Houston Texans

Chicago Bears vs. Indianapolis Colts

New Orleans Saints vs. Tennessee Titans

Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Atlanta Falcons

Teams left out because of no in-state or regional rivals but would play non-conference teams:
