Every 49er fan has an off season wish list. Each year I have a bad habit of secretly wishing for the big splash. I had to fight the Nnamdi Asomugha urges last off season on a daily basis. This year Niner Nation, I’m warding off the temptation. I feel strongly that this team only needs to make adjustments before next season. I also don’t want us to go down the road of signing veterans to large contracts. Who are at the end of their road, to win us a championship now, costing us dearly in the future. Somewhere, I hope your reading this Carmen Policy.

My wish list is simple this year Niner Nation. And it’s after the jump

What a season it has been. It is sad to see the regular season come to a wrap. But unlike years past, the San Francisco 49ers will finally see the post season. There is still some business to be taken care of before we look ahead to the playoffs. With a win against the St. Louis Rams, the Niners will earn a first round bye. It is a much needed first round bye with injuries piling up in the last few weeks. Most of the injuries have been occurring on the offensive side of the ball, which means the defense (the strength of the Niners) is still healthy. Do not think it will be an automatic win for the Niners. I understand it’s the sorry Rams, who are tied with the Indianapolis Colts for the worst record in the NFL. Let’s remember that the Rams do hold a victory over the New Orleans Saints and at the end of the day the players are grown men and will not roll over for anybody. The Rams will show up with plenty of pride. Here are some keys to the game. (more…)

49ers Kicker David Akers kicked an NFL record 42nd field goal Saturday in Seattle. And what are people focusing on? The fact that the 49ers had to attempt those FGs in the first place. Yes the red zone offense needs to be fixed. Yes Akers had some chips shots because the offense didn’t punch it in from 3 yards out. It’s a shame how much this is costing David Akers. Akers is having an all time season here. Any other position and Akers would be making headlines each and every week. He’s nailing kicks from all over the place, inside 40 he’s money every time. But that’s what kickers are paid to do. Akers the veteran the Eagles cast aside has crushed it from 50+ routinely this season. Let’s give the man some props.

What’s wrong with the red zone and how to fix it after the jump
