The 49ers had a bad game last week against the Cardinals and if they were in any other division they would be the cellar dwellers after week one. Fortunately the 49ers are in the NFC Worst where the Rams, well the 38-3 score last week speaks for itself, and the Seahawks, whose wide receivers seem to have a bad case of karma as injuries have taken out Nate Burleson, Bobby Engram, Deion Branch and Ben Obomanu, are both currently in worst shape than the Niners. But after the division rivals face-off tomorrow one team will be headed downward at 0-2 and the other at 1-1 will breathe a sigh of relief to get their first win.

Even with all of the injuries at wide receiver and with RB Maurice Morris out for the game tomorrow the 49ers will have their work cut out for them if they want to win. QB Matt Hasselbeck looked rusty last week but he missed most of training camp and the Seahawks will be at home where fans are considered to be the loudest in the NFL as they are dubbed the “12^th Man”. Look for Hasselbeck to bounce back as the Seahawks had an embarrassing lost last week against the Bills losing 34-10.

Mike Martz needs to find a way to get WR Isaac Bruce involved in the passing attack. Bruce had no receptions last week and Bryant Johnson only managed three catches. If Bruce and Johnson are not involved than TE Vernon Davis becomes irrelevant. The Seahawks will likely have LB Lofa Tatupu on Davis all day which will make a tough day for him regardless of who is involved in the offense. QB J.T. O’Sullivan needs to find a way to hold onto the ball. I wouldn’t be surprised if O’Sullivan continues to fumble the football and we hear a classic Alex Smith small hands excuse. Just hold onto the ball O’Sullivan and spread the ball around to ALL of your receivers. The Seahawks played mostly an eight man front last year as they dared the 49ers to beat them with their passing game. This is not good for RB Frank Gore. The Niners offense needs to force the Seahawks out of that D formation if they want to have success running the football. Martz needs to come up with a great game plan to show the 49ers Faithful last week was not how the 49ers offense will be run this year.

Predication: 49ers 17 Seahawks 27

The game will be close throughout but the Seahawks will find a way to win in the fourth quarter as the 49ers go to mostly passing in the second half as the offense was flat the first half. Martz will try to put on his best impression of “The Greatest Show on Turf” but will quickly realize he has the 49ers offense and “The I Don’t have a QB and No Receivers to Throw to Show on Grass”.

Fantasy Studs:

Frank Gore (95 yards, four receptions, 50 receiving yards, one receiving TD)

Julius Jones (80 yards, one rushing TD, three receptions, 30 receiving yards, one receiving TD)

Again I have picked Frank Gore as the fantasy stud this week. Until J.T. Duh!’Sullivan proves he can run a successful passing game Gore is all the 49ers have in fantasy value.

Julius Jones will split carries with T.J. Duckett but will get most of the carries especially near the goal-line. Jones started all 16 games for the Cowboys last year and he has proven he can be a featured running back. Look for a big game from Jones as the Seahawks have no receivers to throw to.
