At practice on Thursday, the San Francisco 49ers offense practiced their red zone offense for the first time at training camp. Needless to say, the offense looked just as anemic as last season every time they went inside the 20-yardline. The offense managed to score only two touchdowns, with a Frank Gore 2 yard touchdown and short touchdown pass to Will Tukuafu. The defense dominated much of the practice inside the red zone with seven interceptions on four 49ers quarterbacks.

Yes, this was the first time the 49ers practiced inside the red zone and some rust is to be expected. However, it’s not encouraging given the 49ers utter lack of offense inside the red zone last season, finishing 30th in red zone efficiency. With the 49ers new additions, like Randy Moss, Mario Manningham, Brandon Jacobs and LaMichael James, how much will the 49ers offense be improved inside the red zone from last season? Answer in the poll below and tell us your thoughts in the comments.
