Earlier this week it was reported San Francisco 49ers linebacker Aldon Smith underwent surgery on his shoulder. Smith said the surgery fixed a torn labrum and he is expects to be healed up in time for the start of training camp in late July.

I had surgery a couple weeks ago on my shoulder. I’m just rehabbing and healing up.

The linebacker talked about his shoulder surgery on KNBR 680-AM on Wednesday and said the injury occurred on November 19, against the Chicago Bears. In that game the linebacker recorded a career-high 5.5 sacks. He thought the injury was just a “bad stinger” but after the season he was diagnosed with a torn labrum and surgery was required.

When the news first broke that Smith would need shoulder surgery, I immediately thought it had to with his Mixed Martial Arts training he did back in February. But he said the tear did not occur during his MMA training. Speaking at the NFL owners meeting this week, Jim Harbaugh also said Smith will be ready for training camp.

It should be noted Smith only had 4.5 sacks after tearing his labrum against the Bears. After defensive lineman Justin Smith went down with an injury for the last three regular season games, Aldon had zero sacks. However, the linebacker did say on Wednesday his shoulder injury had nothing to do with his lack of sacks.

Hopefully, with the Aldon’s surgery and Justin getting back to full health, the dynamic duo will cause havoc for offenses again in 2013. From the looks of the video below from Smith’s visit to the Boys & Girls Club of San Francisco, his shoulder did not seem to bother him in a game of Junkyard Dog.

After the San Francisco 49ers celebrated their victory and a second straight NFC West Division title on Sunday, they cheered again after the game when the Vikings beat the Packers. With the Packers loss the 49ers officially clinched a first-round bye in the playoffs. This is the first time since 1994-1995 San Francisco won their division two seasons in a row.

Shortly after the game 49ers running back/returner LaMichael James sat down for a post game interview to talk about the spark he provided in the 49ers 27-13 win over the Cardinals. James jump started the 49ers offense in the second quarter with a 28-yard gain for the team’s first first-down of the game. Before that the offense had gained only 15 total yards in the first quarter.

Later In the interview James talks about waiting his turn to finally be activated and contribute on the field. He also says how important it is to have a bye week for the playoffs and getting chance to rest injuries. Below the video is a link to highlights of the 49ers victory.

Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

Each morning I usually watch San Francisco’s local news station KRON4 and this morning they showed a video treat of 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh on Saved by the Bell. Yes, the same Saved by the Bell that made Zach Morris and Screech household names. Although the show Harbaugh acted in is different from the one most of us grew up watching, he appeared on Saved by the Bell: The New Class, it is still equally as entertaining and features Screech!

In the episode, Harbaugh plays Screech’s uncle who comes to The Max, the awesome café that seems to be featured in every episode, to meet Screech for lunch. As Harbaugh enters The Max, he gets a really loud reaction from the crowd. After Harbaugh sits down he talks with Screech’s friend Eric who is having second thoughts on playing football because did a touchdown dance on the 2-yard line. After talking with Eric, Harbaugh agrees to help him by talking to his class for a school project.

At first Harbaugh does not show up to Mr. Dewey’s class, so Screech comes in with a Harbaugh disguise, which is actually the funniest part of the video clip. After Screech’s antics, Harbaugh arrives and in true Harbaugh fashion he gives an inspiring speech about being a hero. I bet this is how the talk between Harbaugh and Alex Smith went down when he benched him.

Here is the video of Harbaugh on Saved by the Bell: The New Class:

At Wednesday’s press conference, Harbaugh was asked about the video and he said some Niners players and his wife brought up the clip to him this week. He said he did not know how the video became so popular again. From what I have read online the video resurfaced through a user at Reddit.com.

For once, Harbaugh looked happy at a press conference. He was willing to talk about his acting work saying it was a high point of his life to work with Screech and “everything has been downhill since then.” At the press conference he also revealed he appeared on the show The Adventures of Briscoe County Junior along with Steelers legend Terry Bradshaw as cowboys. There is also someone who likes a lot like former Niners linebacker Ken Norton Jr. in the clip. While the video is not as funny as Saved by the Bell, Bradshaw’s acting is pretty hilarious. Thanks to the wonderful world of the Internet and YouTube, Niner Noise found Harbaugh’s clip from the show:
