Cornerback is widely considered to be a top positional need for the 49ers in the upcoming NFL Draft. Here at Niner Noise we take a look at cornerback prospects that the team could draft in each round.

The San Francisco released former cornerback Tramaine Brock after his domestic violence arrest, so the team will likely look at adding multiple corners to fill that hole via the 2017 NFL Draft.

Shutdown corner is a premier position in the NFL, as the league is trending more to passing on a consistent basis. The Niners have added former Seattle Seahawks and Jacksonville Jaguars coach Robert Saleh as the new defensive coordinator, so tall and physical corners will be at a premium in this scheme.

With only Rashad Robinson cemented in one outside corner spot, the other side is a big question mark. Will Redmond is coming back from an ACL tear and Dontae Johnson has potential, but neither are proven they are capable to start on a weekly basis.

This is a deep cornerback class. But there is lack of an elite cover corner who is a consensus top-10 pick.

Let’s take a look at which corners the 49ers can take in each round.
