Where have you heard this story before — the San Francisco 49ers suffer an embarrassing defeat against a team which ran the ball like crazy against a porous Niners defense.

Well, it happened again. This time in Week 6 on the road against the Buffalo Bills.

San Francisco now drops to 1-5 after suffering an embarrassing 45-16 defeat at the hands of running back LeSean McCoy and a stout Buffalo defense.

Bills head coach Rex Ryan’s game plan should have been simple — give McCoy the ball early and often. And it worked. McCoy rushed for 140 yards on 19 carries and three touchdowns. He had over 100 yards before halftime too.

Not a good look for a Niners defense, which ranked No. 31 against the run entering the game.

A big story was the return of quarterback Colin Kaepernick to the starting role. Kap had his moments, good and bad, and there’s no reason to suggest he’ll be back on the bench in Week 7.

Instead, head coach Chip Kelly and Co. have plenty of other issues to deal with.

As we do every week, Niner Noise looks at the good, bad and ugly from San Francisco’s on-field efforts.

And as has been the trend since Week 2, the bad and ugly will far outweigh the few things which were good.
