After such a disappointing 2015 season, the 49ers and new head coach Chip Kelly look for a fresh start in 2016 . Niner Noise  takes a look at 5 areas of improvement that will lead to more success in 2016.

Although every team in the NFL enters a new season with renewed hope and enthusiasm for the upcoming season, the San Francisco 49ers may feel especially glad to have a fresh slate.

After a disappointing season under former head coach Jim Tomsula, that saw the Niners sputter to a five-win season,  the 49ers are now lead by former Philadelphia Eagles coach Chip Kelly.

Kelly found immediate success with the Eagles, taking them from 4-12 in 2012  to a 10-win season the following year.

Now, while you may debate the long-term viability of Kelly’s system, the fact is the Eagles were more explosive on offense and had quite a bit of success running the ball during his tenure.

The 49ers are hoping for a similar turnaround heading into the season. And as with any team that struggles as much as the Niners did last year, there were plenty of areas that needed to be addressed.

Let’s focus on five specific things which, should the team improve, can lead to a marked improvement in 2016.
